The Gay Glittering Cowboys of the Stampede Tour

Tuesday night at the Armory Orville Peck walked out to a roaring crowd in a black leather jacket, and leather pants all emblazoned with a fire pattern, a matching cowboy hat, and his signature mask. Peck is currently on his North American tour promoting his new duets’ album Stampede. Peck’s outfit wasn’t the only bold look in the room. Fans showed up in cowboy hats, and boots, in their fun spins on a night on the town.

Jules wore crochet pink pants with red hearts, a glittering cowboy hat, and a bag that looked like a slice of cake. “I wanted to be comfy but cute,” she said of her outfit choices “I also wanted to wear red lipstick so that as I kissed people I left an imprint. Spread the love.” She added.

Steven, JT, and Gabe all collaborated on their outfits choosing to wear rhinestone-fringe cowboy hats and pink silk scarves, they didn’t collaborate further though Steven chose to wear a glittery fringed shirt to match the look. They revealed sheepishly that they’d bought the accessories from Amazon.

Bel wears a thrifted red ensemble. The skirt is thrifted Ralph Lauren and the bolo tie is from the small brand Fat Cat Fancy. The boots are Doc Martens and a great blend of Western-Punk wear.

Dalton and Jake chose to wear mostly thrifted items. Jake’s Tom of Finland shirt was inspired by Orville Peck wearing Tom of Finland in a TikTok video. Dalton found his striped pants in a thrift store in Pheonix which fit the theme of the night perfectly.

Jerry and Johnny stunned in coordinating cowboy get-ups made by Jerry, each piece adorned with embroidery and fringe.

Erin and Amy both accessorized with vintage bags. Erin’s bag depicted someone getting whipped. “It’s from my grandmother.” She joked. While Amy’s bag was a gorgeous vintage leather. Amy also accessorized with gold embroidered boots.

Alexis wore red cowboy hat earrings with dangling rhinestones reminiscent of Peck’s signature masks made by Lovely Little Uglies. She wore a vintage cheetah-printed scarf as a top and used a cowgirl lunch box as a purse both from Moth Oddities.

Peck, openly a member of the LGBTQ+ community, provided a safe and fabulous space for people to express themselves and their inner cowboy.
